The WhatsApp messaging app will stop working for iOS 10 and iOS 11 powered iPhones smartphones in October 2022. The Meta-owned company updates its software requirement for supported operating systems from time to time.
Similar to last year's WhatsApp support drop, this new development also affects users on WhatsApp for Business and those on the regular app. With these, you should consider checking this list to know if your device is affected.

According to WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will discontinue support for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c which runs on iOS 10 and iOS 11, and can't be upgraded to a newer iOS version.
Screenshots shared by the WABetaInfo show that WhatsApp will stop supporting iOS 10 and iOS 11 after October 24, 2022. To continue using WhatsApp, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c users will have to upgrade to a new iPhone model.
