A near-tragic accident occurred around 8:00 am on the Juaso-Obogu Road in the Ashanti Akyem South Municipality, involving a passenger vehicle (Toyota Hiace) and a tipper truck. Thankfully, no fatalities were recorded, but the driver of the passenger vehicle, nicknamed OBOY Low, sustained severe injuries.
What Happened
Eyewitnesses report that the tipper truck was attempting to overtake another vehicle. While maneuvering into the oncoming lane, the truck unexpectedly came face-to-face with the Toyota Hiace carrying passengers. OBOY Low had no choice but to swerve to minimize the impact, leading to a collision on his side of the vehicle.
Aftermath
The driver, OBOY Low, was trapped in the mangled vehicle and had to be carefully retrieved by rescuers. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Passengers onboard the Hiace sustained minor injuries and were also attended to at a nearby medical facility.
