Buckingham Palace sadly announce the death of Queen Elizabeth II



Buckingham Palace has announced that the Queen has passed away at age 96. The longest reign in British history is over with the Queen's passing. She was also the oldest head of state in history. 


The King and the Queen Consort will stay at Balmoral through this evening and go back to London the next day, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace. 

As the oldest head of state in history and the monarch with the longest reign in British history, Queen Elizabeth II.


Charles, the former Prince of Wales, the eldest son and heir of the Queen, has succeeded her as King of the United Kingdom and 14 Commonwealth states. 


There have been no formal announcements regarding what will occur over the next few days, but it is expected that the Queen will have a full state burial, as is customary to mark the passing of a monarch. 

Her remains is anticipated to lie in state so that mourners can pay their respects. 

The last proposals will soon receive the King's approval.
