Gavi's second registration as a first-team player by Barcelona was denied in court.
LaLiga rejected Barca's initial application in January because the club was prohibited from expanding its roster. Gavi must return to his youth contract till the end of the current season.
Barcelona's appeal regarding the contract for Gavi has been rejected by the court. He won't be listed as a member of the first team. Barça must lower its wage budget in order to sign Gavi in the summer. A club may appeal within 20 days.
In other words, he will revert to a youth contract and give up his No. 6 jersey.
A provision in the youth contract enables him to leave on a free in the summer. Barça is said to file additional appeals.
