In the early hours of today, precisely at 3:10 a.m., Florence Fosuaa Obeng, a Level 200 student from the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), was crowned the FACE and Queen of the Linguistics Students Association (LINGSA) 2024. This prestigious title marks a significant milestone in Florence's academic journey as she pursues her degree in Linguistics in English Education.



The competition was fierce, with four talented contestants vying for the crown: Anita, Abigail, Grace, and Florence. The event's scoring criteria were meticulously structured, with Cultural Performance accounting for 10%, Project Presentation for 20%, Catwalk for 10%, and Voting contributing a significant 60% of the final score.


Florence's exceptional performance earned her an impressive 91% out of 100%, showcasing her remarkable talent and resourcefulness. This victory didn't come easily, as her competitors put up a strong fight. Anita secured the 1st Runner Up position with 80.83%, Abigail followed closely with 79.64% as the 2nd Runner Up, and Grace completed the lineup with 39.68% as the 3rd Runner Up.


In addition to clinching the title, Florence also swept the board by winning six additional sashes, making her the proud recipient of a total of seven awards. She was honored with the titles of Miss Catwalk, Most Eloquent, Best Culture, Star Performer, Highest Voter, and Miss Personality, underscoring her versatility and excellence in various aspects of the competition.


Anita, the 1st Runner Up, took home two sashes, including Best Project and her runner-up position. Grace, the 3rd Runner Up, was awarded Most Photogenic, while Abigail, the 2nd Runner Up, earned the titles of Most Disciplined and her runner-up placement.




Florence Fosuaa Obeng's victory as FACE OF LINGSA 2024 is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and exceptional talent.
